Forum: Community Conversation ]]> http://wskg.websitetoolbox.com/post?id=3169151 Mon, 15 Dec 2008 13:11:47 GMT http://wskg.websitetoolbox.com/post?id=3155030 On our next Community Conversation, Kathleen Cook talks with Ellen DeFay, manager of Nutrition Programming, and Michelle Constable, a Nutrition and Food Safety Educator from the Broome County Cooperative Extension's Eat Smart NY Program and Master Composter Adam Michaelides from the Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County.  They’ll discuss how to save money this winter through smart food purchasing and food preparation. This includes reducing waste by buying items with less packaging (i.e. buying in bulk), and also by recycling and composting everything possible, which leaves less trash to pay for, and provides ‘home-grown compost’ to use in the garden instead of buying compost from a store.
 
Feel free to share your own ideas for smart food purchasing and prep here, as well as recipes, ideas for composting and more. How are you adjusting your cooking habits to deal with a tighter economy? Do you think that more Americans will move away from ready-to-eat foods and back towards a more holistic approach to food?

I'll open up the discussion tonight with a request for feedback. Did you listen to tonight's Community Conversation on drilling in the Marcellus Shale? What did you think about it? What issues relating to the proposed drilling in the Marcellus Shale do you think we should be looking at for future programs?

8. Release and Indemnity.
BY REGISTERING AND POSTING A COMMENT ON WSKG’S COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS FORUM YOU HEREBY RELEASE AND WAIVE ANY AND ALL CLAIMS AND/OR LIABILITY AGAINST WSKG ARISING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF WSKG’S COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS FORUMS.
